I'm Trying to Remember English. Ama olumuyor her halde.

Before I start this writing, let me tell you guys that before Turkiye, my English was %70. After I came to Turkiye, now its %15. The fact that here no one speaks English people who speak English is not too much my English doesn't get good influence and doesn't develop at all. Also, here I just speak with my friends, who are just 6 of them, and unfortunately they also don't speak English fluently (or they were and Turkce destroyed their English, not to blame Turkce :p). So in general my English has absolutely gone. I didn't want to write my blog in English, actually. But Helal (one of my roommate, she knew English but then she went to Preparation class of Turkce last year then she forgot her English) keep insisting that i need to write my writings in English. That people who doesn't know Indonesian and Turkce (yes like i know how to write in Turkce) can also read my writings so that i can get more readers from around the world (yes like i write something that everyone likes, but i actually i hope :p)

Okay, so before i opened this blog page i googled 'English Grammar'. I read everything there. And. Seems like i forgot English too much. English tenses and words seems so strange when was reading it. 6 or 7 months ago, like i said, i remember any words that I've ever read and learned. I spoke so good though the ones who speak with me sometimes dont understand me because no one speaks English good here. I'm not being arrogant or anything. The first month i spoke so good but my friends know English like 2nd high school grader in Indonesia though they are also foreigners. We spoke in English though grammatically i know it was totally wrong and we mix it with Turkish words if we dont know that in English. We got used to wrong English till now (but thank God we understand each other), and even we don't use too much words, just the simple ones like what i use now here.

We also have 'English Meeting' one time in a week here in university. English Meeting initiated by one lecturer in Economics Fakulty, Halime Hoca. Its kinda chit chat in English because Halime hoca wants to develop her English (in a wrong place). Even, because of we talk in English and no one else does, we started to hang out together. Since then we're speaking in English all the time except in class (especially after Ceren Hoca came to our class and will get really angry when someone talks in other language, and she also probably will be sooooo angry is she knows that I wrote something in English :p).We became so close because it is just us that know English, and it eases us when we talk about someone. English is our secret language. Now you can imagine how rare English speaker are here?

But time over time, we realized that the point we came here is for education, and being successful in university next year is not easy, we need to know Turkish so good since we are foreigner and dont fluently know Turkish. Slowly we tried to talk in Turkish, and these days we didn't hang out as much as before. So, we didn't speak English too much, even the worse thing is now its so strange when someone among us is talking in English whereas before it was the reverse. Apparently, we forgot our English, and we started to get use to talk in Turkish, its a good thing at least. Doesn't matter, the priority is now to know Turkish good, then next year i will be able to start again to learn English (inshallah).

English Kankiler, Sumaya (Afghanistan), Me, Igli (Albania), Helal (Afghanistan), Dzenana (Bosnia Herzegovina), Haki (Mesir)
